A DAY WITH MY FATHER

On a drowsy Sunday morning, I woke up and searched for my mother’s hand across the bed. When I finally found my mother’s hand, something was off … The hand was muscular and hard … I looked up with my barely open eyes … It was my father! But I was too sleepy to celebrate anyways. So after I woke up and I brushed my teeth to eat my mother’s tasty masala dosa. You see... I was so lazy to even brush my teeth… That is until I heard my mother was making masala dosa! I rushed and brushed my teeth to eat it with my father and we started off the day feeling pretty good!.. We later planned that we would go to watch a movie. But I  wasn’t on board with the idea as I didn’t like much noise and especially , suspense !..But I had no choice, So we had to get ready at 2:00pm to make thing workout … My father was ready in an instant, as he really liked the franchise: Mission impossible .I too get ready quick. My mother said she would be ready in 5 min…. but she actually to more than 10 min… So being the respectable guy I am ….. I rubbed it on to her face saying – “You took more than 5 minutes!.. After we got ready and ate our lunch at a hotel…Which did not have great employees… But the food made up for the other flaws. We got into theatre and sat on the last seat, which I think was expensive…The movie was so fun, and had much suspense and action…“I never enjoyed a movie this much!” I thought to myself…and…the rubbed it on my face because I actually enjoyed the movie… I learned that you should try that thing before judging it is bad. As other like to say it…. Never judge a book by it’s cover cover…. Later we went grocery shopping and bought the stuff we need. We always go out when my father comes as he only comes once or twice a week .I got some new dresses and gifts from my father too! We joked around, ate gone to watch a movie and more! I really enjoyed my time with my parents which was terrible… But the happy things outweigh the bad things times!.. It’s gonna take a while to get my hair back…..

(I really enjoyed the holiday….)

  A MORNING WALK

Laila, an autistic 14 year old had always felt left out. She had always felt like an outcast in the world full of talented, smart people. She had no friends in school and was continuously bullied. Which was why she always longed for a dog. Her parents didn’t pay much attention to her. Not because they didn’t love her. They where just very busy and didn’t think their child needed their attention. This was the problem with early unexpected pregnancy. The parents wouldn’t be ready for parenthood and caring for a child. They didn’t know what was best for Laila. And those being on the verge of a divorce just makes it worse. Laila no siblings and always felt lonely in this cruel empty world. She longed for a friend. She longed for a person who understood her and listened to her and would care for her. She was insecure and unstable and had frequent breakdowns. She suffered from anxiety and depression. All she longed for was a person who listen to her. A person who would stand by her side no matter what. Another one of her breakdowns kept her awake at night. She wept and wept till her eyes hurt and she had no more tears. When she checked the time she was surprised to see it was 4:30 am. She decided to go out for a long walk and clear her mind. She went out and walked to her favorite park nearby. By the time she reached it was 5am.There was no one around. That when she saw something strange. She saw something like a portal. It was colorful and looked very inviting. She went to it and decided to go inside. She stepped a foot in then went in fully. She was shocked to see, she reached a completely different place. It was the same park in the same city in the same country. It just looked like another dimension she was surprised. This world looked so beautiful. It had a beautiful view of the sunrise and there were bird chirping and kids laughing. She walked back to her home and found out it was abandoned. She thought she could stay there for the time being. That’s when she noticed. The people there didn’t seem normal. They didn’t look at her with disgust or make fun of her as she passed by. They actually looked friendly and smiled at her. She felt something she had never felt in a long time. Happiness? Was that what she felt? Those children seemed different though. They seemed like.....her. They talked to her and she found out they were all autistic too.  “But they seemed happy” she thought. They talked to her and showed her around but they didn’t seem them surprised to see her. She asked them if they know her and they called her by another name. They called her Nancy. They said Nancy had been in that house ever since she was a kid. Laila knew that Nancy might have gone to Laila’s dimension. Laila wanted to go back to the world she was familiar with but she liked it here. With these people who treated her who doesn’t belong in the world. She found out these girls had it way worse than her. They were very poor and had to eat food only once a day. They were autistic and walked around as a group. The other made fun of them but they had each other. She longed for that. She went with these girls to their school as Nancy. There she saw they were bullied by everyone. Even the teachers were bad to them and looked at them with disgust. She knew they didn’t fit in with the other kids. But these girls didn’t seem to mind it. They were bullied at every chance. But they didn’t cry or feel miserable. They brushed it off. Laila was awestruck. She didn’t know how they could still be happy. She asked them about it and they told her something she would never forgot. They said “we know why they bully us. We are sad we couldn’t be like the others. But this is how we are .We can’t change it .And there is no use in being sad over this and ruining our beautiful life .We are different and we should be proud of it” .She would never forgot these words .Laila thought about this the whole day .And that night when she went to sleep ,she didn’t cry .She actually felt blessed that she was given an opportunity to live in this beautiful world .The next day she woke up at 4:30 am and went to the park .She expected to see the portal open again at 5:00 am and yes she was right she saw the portal right where it was the day before .She went inside and reached her real world .She went home and the first thing she did was hug her parents and say thank you for everything .She finally knew that she wasn’t alone .That portal had been a gift to her to know that she was gifted and different .She wasn’t an outcast and neither was she alone .That morning walk had changed her life forever .And she was very thankful for it.
